The comments made from Willie Mullins when speaking about his Cheltenham Festival contenders make it extremely hard to see anything in the field beating Douvan. Willie Mullins has openly said that Douvan could be the best horse he's ever had and if that's the case then the main dangers to Douvan will be the fences rather than the other horses. Douvan remains unbeaten over fences and has been absolutely flawless in his three outings. Douvan is a potential superstar over fences and with a clear round of jumping will win this race easily before going onto bigger things on both sides of the water.

If the ground is good then The Game Changer has an each way chance. Rated 151 over fences he has it all to do to beat Douvan, but then so does everyone else. Ruby Walsh described this horses jumping as "deadly" and Gordon Elliot has said The Game Changer will definitely run if the ground is in its favour.

Smart hurdler who rarely runs a bad race but often finds one too good. Is 2 wins from 3 over fences and is officially rated 152. Likely to be the 2nd highest rated chaser in the field after final declarations and is probably Britain's main hope of winning The Arkle Chase. Wants good ground.

Must be sick of the sight of Douvan's backside after suffering three defeats over hurdles to Willie Mullins' superstar. Faced the same rival over fences last time out where Douvan beat Sizing John by 18l's without coming off the bridle. Might be better on good ground but would need to show a massive amount of improvement to beat Douvan.
